Entropia Universe Markup Explained: TT Value, Markup %, and How to Avoid Overpaying
In Entropia Universe, almost every item has two prices: what the game will pay you (TT value) and what players charge (markup). Understanding both is essential so you don't overpay in player-to-player trades or on the auction house.
What is TT Value?
TT (trade terminal) value is the base value of an item when sold to the game. It's the "raw" value in PED. When someone says an item is "20 PED TT," they mean the game would buy it for 20 PED. TT is fixed by the game and doesn't change with supply and demand.
What is Markup?
Markup is the percentage above TT that players pay when buying from other players or the auction. 100% means you pay exactly TT (no premium). 115% means you pay 1.15 × TT — so for a 20 PED TT item, you pay 23 PED. Markup reflects scarcity, demand, and convenience; rare or useful items often have high markup.
How to Calculate Real Cost
Real cost in PED = TT value × (markup % ÷ 100). Example: 50 PED TT at 120% = 50 × 1.20 = 60 PED. Use the Markup Calculator on Entropia Hub to do this instantly: enter TT and markup %, and you get the total price. Always run the numbers before agreeing to a trade or placing a bid.
Why It Matters
Many trades are quoted as "TT + markup" or "X% MU." If you don't know the TT or how to convert, you can overpay or under-sell. Checking TT in-game (right-click item → view) and then applying the agreed markup with a calculator keeps trades fair and transparent.
